Abstract
This IDC Survey examines the 2023 economic outlook and cybersecurity spending.
IT leaders face an array of conflicting challenges in 2023 as they develop IT budgeting plans that anticipate potential economic disruptions while still maintaining the shift to digital business models. At the end of 2022, IDC connected with IT leaders around the world to gain an early insight into how they are navigating disruptions and prioritizing technology investments. IDC's Global Technology Thought Leadership group conducts a monthly survey (IDC's Future Enterprise Resiliency and Spending Survey) to understand how IT and business leaders in enterprises around the world are assessing risks and addressing cost management for their growing portfolio of technology resources.
This survey of n = 1,032 in North America, Latin America, Asia/Pacific, and Western Europe was conducted in January 2023 while IT leaders were finalizing technology budget plans for 2023. They reflect the attitudes and expectations as of that moment in time.
