Abstract

This IDC Tech Buyer Presentation focuses on the top use cases for generative AI (GenAI) in the technology-oriented value chain (TOVC) manufacturing industries, which include consumer electronics, semiconductors, and high-tech organizations.

Much like EOVC (engineering-oriented value chain) manufacturing, TOVC companies produce connected products that generate massive amounts of data and present an opportunity for these organizations — but technical and organizational resources are often not available to collate, analyze, and federate data and knowledge across the entire manufacturing process chain (product development, supply chain, production, and customer engagement). GenAI enhances an organization's ability to build multifaceted data models that support the generation of new innovation, optimize supply chain and ecosystem approach, and provide support for the iterative software development needed for high-tech products.
