Abstract

This IDC Tech Buyer Presentation focuses on the top use cases for generative AI (GenAI) in the engineering-oriented value chain (EOVC) manufacturing industries, which include automotive, aerospace, heavy equipment, and industrial machinery — in short, companies that manufacture complex discrete products.

Discrete, EOVC-manufactured products are increasingly connected and software rich, providing a constant stream of data which will exponentially grow in the coming years. The challenge many manufacturers have is organizing and analyzing this data, and then unifying and federating knowledge to a cross-domain team. They also require multidimensional supply chains and ecosystems to support effective product development, production, and delivery of these products. Enter GenAI, which provides EOVC manufacturers with a tool to help address these challenges, move faster with decision-making and innovation, and ultimately optimize delivery of products and experiences that delight customers.
