Abstract
This IDC Survey Spotlight uses data collected from IDC's August 2023 Worldwide C-Suite Tech Survey. In it, we highlight the investments sales organizations are making in the management and analysis of data, including generative AI (GenAI) and predictive AI. This IDC Survey Spotlight also discusses the expectations sales executives have for the use of GenAI over the next year and a half. "While use cases for GenAI in sales are still emerging, executives are placing their bets on its potential to boost the productivity and efficiency of the sales force," says Michelle Morgan, research manager for Sales Force Performance and Productivity at IDC. "If GenAI can eliminate even a quarter of the time sellers spend on nonselling activities, the initial investments made in the technology will be worth it."
