Abstract
This IDC PlanScape provides a road map for how retailers can optimize their workforce through digital transformation to drive efficiencies and profit and improve productivity and customer experiences. Providing staff with the tools to have more valuable and efficient experiences will improve employee satisfaction, which will in turn reduce turnover and create trust between the employee and the employer.
Leslie Hand, group vice president, IDC Retail Insights, asserts, "To be successful today, omni-channel retailers need to leverage the store as a hub designed to maximize the flow of product from supplier to consumer, which will improve financial metrics across all key KPIs including employee productivity and retention, inventory availability and turns, and customer satisfaction and lifetime value.
