Abstract

This IDC Tech Buyer Presentation explores the role of enterprise voice as a utility and discusses the changing nature of enterprise investments in voice solutions. This offers organizations a viewpoint around the criticality of voice to their hybrid, future of work environment, and the role of broader cloud-based voice and unified communications (UC) solutions in achieving the broader business goals.

"There has been a lot of discussion around the role of 'voice' in today's as well as future hybrid work scenarios, and if voice is becoming redundant because of the proliferation of other mediums, such as videoconferencing, messaging apps, and other social media platforms. So, is voice dead? The short answer is no. Voice is one of the foundation elements of digital workplace transformation and hybrid work as it forms the basis of flexible and agile collaboration, acting as a natural bridge between the physical and digital worlds. It is often the starting point of enterprise workplace transformation journey," says Nikhil Batra, research director, IDC AP Telecom practice.
