Abstract
This IDC Survey document features the results of IDC's February 2024 Digital Platform Ecosystem Economic Impact Survey. As part of IDC's global Digital Platform Ecosystem Economic Impact (DPE EI) effort, this IDC survey asked platform decision-makers, adopters, and users about their perceptions of their company's adoption of platforms and the corresponding value. The 2024 DPE EI surveyed 452 end users closely associated with the adoption and application of platforms on their perceptions, attitudes, and impact of the adoption of digital platforms, including breaking it down by the eight largest platform providers and across seven countries.
The results show that companies are adopting digital platform architectures to both support additional functionality and reduce costs. However, there have been some barriers that companies wish platform vendors would support them in addressing.
