Abstract
This IDC Survey Spotlight examines how C-level executives have aligned their thinking and expectations around the impact of GenAI and how it impacts connectivity investments. While digital maturity changes perception of GenAI benefits for the enterprise, C-level executives in general expect customer satisfaction benefits and improved competitive differentiation. This data follows up and aligns with recent IDC data that shows that GenAI is either starting to or is already disrupting enterprise connectivity transformation plans, and 53% state that GenAI is already having some or significant impact on current connectivity transformation plans and road map decisions.
The data in this Survey Spotlight compares responses from two recent surveys. IDC's 2024 Future Enterprise Resiliency and Spending Survey, Wave 1, investigates how IT and business leaders in enterprises that are already or planning to invest in GenAI in the next 18 months are assessing GenAI's potential impacts on their organizations. Data pertaining to connectivity strategy and supplier preference for GenAI comes from IDC's 2023 Future Enterprise Resiliency and Spending Survey Wave 8, fielded in September of 2023.
