Abstract

This IDC Survey examines selected key findings from IDC's Global GenAI Awareness, Readiness, and Commitment (ARC) Survey, focusing specifically on the data connectivity implications. This document looks at the current state of generative AI (GenAI) usage and planning within organizations, highlighting the varied levels of usage in the current market, as well as the major data connectivity–related challenges that organizations are facing. This IDC Survey includes comparisons between IT and LOB perspectives and the C-suite compared with lower-role levels in the organization.

According to Shari Lava, research director, Automation within the AI and Automation Group at IDC, "Organizations are thinking about customer-facing use cases for generative AI but recognize that there are a lot of data-quality and governance challenges that must be solved first. Data connectivity to high-quality sources will be paramount to getting utility from generative AI investments."
