This IDC Perspective summarizes the key announcements from the Salesforce Dreamforce 2023 event. "Salesforce is one of the largest and most influential companies in the world when it comes to front-end applications like marketing, sales, and commerce," said Alan Webber, program vice president, Digital Platform Ecosystems at IDC. "As such, its deep technical innovation efforts to push the AI envelope forward in a trusted way are critical to what the next generation of applications and customer experiences are going to look like. However, customers need to be careful when adopting AI — yes, it is a potential differentiator, and Salesforce is doing all it can to make it trustworthy, but companies still need to do the same with clean data, good practices, clear business processes, and trained users."
