Abstract

This IDC Tech Buyer Presentation outlines the specific ways AI operations (AIOps) are used within enterprise network management and provides guidance to enterprise buyers about how to deploy these technologies to advance their future of connectedness strategy. Advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML), and specifically generative AI, have taken the tech industry — and society more broadly — by storm. AI and ML algorithms have long been used within enterprise network management platforms for the campus, branch, edge and IoT access, and wide area networks. GenAI's hype is placing greater focus on how enterprise buyers should consider AI and ML in managing their networks.

"AI-enhanced network operations have the opportunity to transform how organizations of all sizes manage, optimize, and assure high-quality user and application experiences within their enterprise networks," says Brandon Butler, IDC research manager, Enterprise Networks. "Key to extracting the maximum value from AI-enhanced operations is having a clear understanding of how AI/ML is being used within network management platforms and having a road map to take advantage of AIOps capabilities that aligns with organizations' future of connectedness strategy."
