This IDC study provides an updated forecast for the U.S. augmented and virtual reality hardware market for the 2023–2027 period.
"The U.S. AR/VR hardware market will see slight growth in 2023 before returning to double-digit growth in subsequent years," says Ramon T. Llamas, research director with IDC's Augmented and Virtual Reality team. "The anticipated launch of the Apple Vision Pro will bring attention and interest from many who had been on the fence about purchasing a headset, and the launch of other headsets will likewise spur growth in the market. This should give players throughout the ecosystem plenty of opportunities to find new customers and introduce new use cases to keep up with a fast-growing market."
