Abstract

This IDC Survey Spotlight compares data from IDC's February and March 2023 Future Enterprise Resiliency and Spending Survey to explore the question about the resilience of integration investments despite economic headwinds. While there was a dip in likelihood to rank it as immune to budget reductions, it quickly recovers because priorities that also rank high either perform better or require integration to be successful.

According to Shari Lava, research director, Automation at IDC, "Integration is fundamental to moving data through the organization in real time to ensure critical operational data is not stuck in application silos. While it can be sometimes viewed as plumbing, once it is recognized as a critical component of unlocking broader automation, AI, and other improvement projects, organizations rethink its importance."
