Abstract
This IDC Market Glance provides a list of ecosystem orchestration platforms (EOPs) by focused use case: telecom/communications, technology distributor, and vendor marketplaces. EOPs address the complexity of managing, orchestrating, and monetizing multipartner recurring/transactional/service offerings across multiple channels. EOPs enable a business to create and support a marketplace of typically digital subscription services with adjacent offerings like marketplaces offered by many telecoms, AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Salesforce AppExchange.
EOPs answer the preference change in the way customers prefer to purchase their digital services, and marketplaces are now on the top of the list. Since buying and fulfilling an order for an ongoing digital service are much different than transacting a purchase of a product, a new type of application is needed to automate this complex process.
