This IDC Tech Buyer Presentation highlights some of the findings from IDC's 2022 Worldwide IT/OT Convergence Survey. The full survey includes respondents across 4 industrial segments (manufacturing, oil and gas, utilities, and mining), 13 regions, and varying company sizes, with this presentation focusing on the findings for both process and discrete manufacturers.
Manufacturers can use this information to understand the top drivers behind IT/OT integration, most challenging barriers holding organizations back, the impact of IT/OT convergence, governance model approaches, how functional groups work together, and investment priorities including cloud, analytics, edge computing, and AI/ML. In addition, this presentation explores the varying mindset of both IT and the line of business (LOB), as getting both groups onboard is critical to success.
