Abstract
This IDC Market Presentation provides an overview of public cloud infrastructure- and platform-as-a-service workload trends and outlook of the future spending. This overview serves as an update to the IaaS/PaaS workloads forecast released in 2021 (see Worldwide Public Cloud IaaS and PaaS Workloads Forecast, 2021–2025, IDC #US48032921, July 2021) and focuses on analysis of spending trends for 19 workloads defined in IDC's Worldwide Enterprise Infrastructure Workloads Taxonomy, 2023 (IDC #US49306023, forthcoming). As public cloud services remain one of the fastest-growing areas of IT spending, certain workloads drive this spending at a higher rate than others and understanding the dynamics is important for business analysis and planning.
