Abstract

This IDC Survey takes an in-depth look at data from IDC's recent Future of Connectedness Sentiment Survey, fielded in August 2022. Results from 770 worldwide respondents from enterprises show that recent economic challenges and global uncertainty has slowed spending growth on some connectivity-related strategies, solutions, and services. That said, investment in connectivity programs that increase resiliency and reduce costs remain a top 3 priority for 2023 and beyond. Data shows that the migration to a digital-first and cloud-first road map is continuing, but some enterprises are taking a more conservative approach to increasing connectivity spending compared with 2021. Multicloud networking, remote work applications, network/customer analytics, and edge adoption stand out as key priorities to reduce costs, reduce data silos, and increase collaboration across business divisions.
