Abstract
This IDC Perspective is the second in a three-part series that discusses the changing role of the CHRO as technologies, services, and expectations continue to evolve after the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. Part one covers the evolution of the CHRO from a talent acquisition perspective, part two addresses the evolution of the CHRO when it comes to post-hire activities, processes, technologies, and services owned by HR/HCM function. The latter includes core HR, payroll, learning and development. Part three will cover the cross HR areas of employee experience and engagement.
"The business changes and challenges that have resulted from the global pandemic presented HR and the CHRO with an opportunity to step up and demonstrate leadership like never before. CHROs that stepped up and helped their organizations through choppy waters successfully did so by elevating the importance of the worker, automating wherever possible, and demonstrating agility," says Lisa Rowan, research vice president, HR, Talent, and Learning Strategies for IDC. "HR executives and CHROs who have not yet done so still can by following the example of those that have successfully done so already."
