Abstract

This IDC PeerScape describes how three senior IT leaders are delivering a new operating model for IT to support accelerated, adaptive solutions to the business. This new operating model requires a positive change in the relationship between IT and the business. The new role of IT will dramatically grow in the enterprise — not as an isolated technology function but rather as a fully integrated partner in the end-to-end processes of the business.

"This study highlights how these leaders and their organizations have met these challenges by developing a new digital operating model," says Bob Multhaup, adjunct analyst with IDC's IT Executive Programs (IEP). "Their best practices include developing a combined business/IT strategy and a new digital operating model, integrating end-to-end IT products into end-to-end business processes and outcomes, and enabling IT to deliver differentiated capabilities to its customers."
