Abstract

This IDC Market Presentation was delivered to IDC infrastructure clients and represents the state of confidential computing from an infrastructure platforms and systems and infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) perspective. Even though the market is not that huge (sizing forthcoming), the landscape is getting quite diverse. It includes enabling technologies suppliers like Intel (SGX) and AMD (EPYC); OEM and ODM server vendors like Dell, Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE), IBM, and Lenovo; and cloud service providers like Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google, IBM, Microsoft, and Oracle. Confidential computing is especially important in shared multitenant environments where there is greater risk of data in use (in memory) getting compromised.
