This IDC study presents IDC's analysis of key trends and drivers relating to the convergence and integration of information technology (IT) with operational technology (OT) and how these trends are likely to shape the development of IT/OT convergence strategies and initiatives in the planning horizon of 2022–2027.
"Working models and market requirements for operations have changed dramatically in the past 18 months, yet the means and desired outcomes remain the same," says Jonathan Lang, research manager, Worldwide IT/OT Convergence Strategies at IDC. "Companies must now execute effectively on the priorities they have laid out in the areas of remote operational capabilities, data-driven decision making, and resiliency across their technology and operational capabilities to support volatile market dynamics."
