Abstract

This IDC Market Presentation provides an overview of cloud-related channel partner trends in the Middle East, Türkiye, and Africa (META). The data is drawn from IDC’s Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) Partner Survey, September 2022.

The research was conducted to understand the importance of cloud resell and services in channel partner portfolios and to develop a clear picture of the state of channel partners’ cloud business maturity. Other objectives included gaining insights into the future transformation strategies of cloud channel partners and understanding their hiring priorities.

The research focuses on business models, cloud activity, marketplace participation, partner transformation, key technology areas, vendor relationships, customer bases, and performance.

IDC surveyed 806 partners operating across the EMEA region, each being a member of at least one technology vendor's partner program. Altogether, 220 of the partners that participated in the survey operate in the META region. The survey was conducted in 25 countries across EMEA from July–September 2022. Of the 25 countries, seven are in the META region — Türkiye, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Kenya, Nigeria, and South Africa. The surveyed partners all have a minimum of five employees and do not primarily operate as distributors.

This presentation is part of a series of documents to be published to IDC’s Middle East and North Africa ICT Market Opportunity and Digital Transformation Strategies Continuous Information Service.
