Abstract

This IDC MarketScape presents a vendor assessment for the public cloud infrastructure as a service (IaaS) market in the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region based on the IDC MarketScape model. IDC identified over 35 IaaS providers in the region and, after an initial outreach process, selected 11 cloud service providers with operations and customers in the region. These providers were evaluated using the IDC MarketScape model, and the process included information collected from the market and the providers themselves. Providers were measured in terms of their current capabilities and future strategies for delivering services to customers in the MEA region.

"The adoption of public cloud services in the MEA region is set to continue trending upward as more organizations work toward resilience, scalability, and flexibility while complying with data sovereignty regulations. The continuing investments from hyperscalers and local players in the region have created a dynamic and competitive IaaS market, providing significant choices to end-user organizations. IaaS buyers should accelerate their move to public cloud by leveraging the increasing local cloud region presence, sovereign cloud offerings, hybrid cloud and multicloud management solutions, and expanding partner ecosystems." — Senior Research Manager Jebin George, Software and Cloud, IDC Middle East and Africa
