Abstract
This IDC Market Note examines IBM's progress in security services following its business update to selected analysts in London in May 2023, which contained detailed sessions on incident response, attack surface management and data security, among others. IBM Security comprises a large team with extensive capabilities supporting the IBM strategy of hybrid cloud and AI as well as business expertise that drives productivity and efficiency for enterprises. It has already made no fewer than 23 acquisitions in the security space, with the latest two providing further capabilities in data security posture management (DSPM) and attack surface management.
