Abstract
The EU’s updated Directive on the Security of Network and Information Systems (NIS 2) came into force in January 2023. EU member states have until October 18, 2024, to transpose the articles of the directive into their national legislation. The directive represents a substantial update from the EU’s first NIS directive, expanding both the scope of the organizations covered and the requirements for those organizations. With less than a year to go until that date, this IDC Market Note examines the status of preparations in the member states.
