Abstract

This IDC Survey document presents findings from IDC Canada's recent consumer surveys, focusing on wearables hardware. IDC Canada's consumer research group conducts tri-annual surveys to understand the current and future adoption plans for a variety of consumer devices.

One of the main goals of these surveys is to identify/measure the current state of the consumer device markets, such as mobile phones, wearables, laptops/notebooks, desktops, and tablets.

The showcased data highlights consumer interest, ownership, usage, preferences, and future potential for the purchase of consumer wrist-worn wearables (smart watches, hybrid watches, wrist-worn fitness trackers, etc.) and of burgeoning "hearables" (such as smart wireless earphones/headphones, etc.).

Survey data from previous IDC Canada surveys has been used where appropriate to best illustrate market trends. This document also references data from consumer, second quarter (June) 2023 and earlier surveys for year-over-year comparisons and beyond.
