Riyadh, March 7, 2023 – With annual spending on public cloud services in Saudi Arabia growing at a CAGR of 25% and set to reach $2.5 billion by 2026, the Kingdom's foremost IT decision makers gathered at the Voco Riyadh hotel yesterday for the 2023 edition of the IDC Cloud & Datacenter Roadshow. Combining research-backed insights, informative presentations, and interactive panel discussions, the event addressed the theme 'Leveraging the Economics and Sustainability of Cloud in the Digital Era'.

"Digital transformation imperatives are driving organizations to deploy a broad range of cloud services — including private cloud, hosted private cloud, and public cloud — in multicloud environments," says Uzair Mujtaba, program manager for IDC Saudi Arabia. "These multicloud platforms form the foundation of innovation. However, they also create fresh challenges for CIOs in terms of security and manageability."

Mujtaba explored these challenges as he presented the event's keynote, 'Delivering Enterprise Digital Transformation: Multicloud for Agile IT'. He outlined the latest developments in the Middle East's cloud landscape as organizations across the region increasingly embrace multicloud architecture. He also discussed the future of Cloud 2.0 and outlined the new market opportunities it is likely to create, while two fascinating panel discussions served up essential guidance on identifying the building blocks of an effective cloud strategy and leveraging cloud to shape a successful digital transformation journey.

The IDC Cloud & Datacenter Roadshow in Riyadh presented a deep dive into the current state of Saudi Arabia's cloud market, with a particular focus on the areas of cloud management, security, backup-as-a-service, governance, orchestration, sustainability, and customer engagement. An enviable lineup of expert speakers were on hand to present proven strategies for implementing digital-first business models, accelerating development and delivery, and driving innovation, with first-hand insights from some of the Kingdom's most respected industry thought leaders, including:
