Johannesburg – South Africa's foremost IT decision makers will gather at the Focus Rooms in Johannesburg on March 15 for the 2023 edition of the IDC Cloud & Datacenter Roadshow. Combining research-backed insights, informative presentations, and interactive panel discussions, the event will address the theme 'Leveraging the Economics and Sustainability of Cloud in the Digital Era'.

"Cloud-centric operating models have grown to become integral components of modernizing IT environments across South Africa," says Jonathan Tullett, IDC's associate research director for IT services in Sub-Saharan Africa. "Those organizations that adopt resilient cloud-based models are perfectly placed to transform the application of technologies such as artificial intelligence and machine learning into on-the-ground competitive advantages that can be leveraged to execute their visions for the future."

Given this new reality, organizations across South Africa are increasingly concluding that the clearest path to cloud lies in having a flexible and resilient IT model in place that enables them to ensure business continuity and deploy transformational IT strategies. Indeed, IDC's latest research shows that 46% of organizations in the country plan to significantly increase their investments in infrastructure transformation capabilities (the digital infrastructure that enables cloud, software-defined solutions, etc.) over the next 12–18 months.

The 15th annual edition of the IDC Cloud & Datacenter Roadshow will examine the current state of the South African cloud market, with a particular focus on the areas of cloud management, security, governance, orchestration, sustainability, and customer engagement. An enviable lineup of expert speakers will be on hand to present proven strategies for implementing digital-first business models, accelerating development and delivery, and driving innovation, with first-hand insights from some of the region's most respected industry thought leaders, including:

Charles Mavimbela, Head of Risk, Nedbank
