BANGKOK, THAILAND, June 19, 2023 — According to the IDC Worldwide Industrial Printer Tracker, Direct-to-Shape UV Printers are Thailand's only Industrial Printer Market with a positive CAGR in value, growing 30% over the last five years.

Direct-to-shape (DTS) UV printers are a relatively new and innovative UV-cured inkjet technology revolutionizing how businesses print directly on all kinds of products, such as bottles, cans, cosmetics, pens, phone cases, toys, premium gifts, and souvenirs. This allows businesses to create custom products that are both visually appealing and durable.

While the DTS market only accounted for 4% of the Industrial Printer Market value in 2022. In Q1 2023, it accounted for 7%, growing 140% quarter-on-quarter (QoQ), led by 18-inch models with 54% value share.

In 2022, the Thailand DTS continued to be dominated by three players, with Mimaki and Roland accounting for over 78% of the market value from 55% of the shipments. In contrast, Nocai led the price-sensitive end of the market with almost 19% of market value from over 40% of shipments.

DTS UV printers are especially well-suited for the Thai market, with growing demand mainly from the tourism, retail, and manufacturing sectors for an increasing variety of unique and personalized products.

“We are excited about the growth of DTS UV printers in the Thai market. DTS UV printers offer many benefits for printer businesses, including increased flexibility, speed, quality, and durability. Their cost-effective personalization capabilities are set to persistently revolutionize Thai businesses by adding significant value to their products,” said Natcha Panidchinoros, Market Analyst, IDC Asia/Pacific.
