Abstract
This IDC Survey Spotlight provides a view of the influence finance has in enterprise application technology and innovation decisions. This presentation reflects findings from IDC’s C-Suite Tech Survey of 126 respondents from the finance/strategy function in October 2024 and IDC’s Office of the CFO Survey of 512 CFOs conducted in August 2024 reported by 824 respondents.
“Enterprise application technology purchasing decisions are heavily influenced by the office of the CFO,” says Mickey North Rizza, group vice president, Enterprise Software. “The CFO is also taking on additional responsibilities beyond finance. Enterprises are restructuring and consolidating nonfinance functions under the CFO to improve productivity and efficiencies”.
