Abstract

This IDC Survey Spotlight examines the prevalence of the use of code auto-generation by developers, including the proportion of auto-generated code that developers accept without revision. Survey results show that the vast majority of developers leverage auto-generated code to some degree but that room remains for improvements in output quality.

This IDC Survey Spotlight is built on data from IDC's 2024 Modern Software Development Survey, which features insights from 631 developers worldwide.
