Abstract

This IDC Survey discusses enterprise digital platforms. Digital platform adoption is accelerating due to the increasing necessity for organizations to adapt to rapidly evolving technologies. As businesses strive for operational efficiency and enhanced productivity, digital platforms have become essential.

The digital platforms study was conducted as part of IDC's May 2024 Future Enterprise Resiliency and Spending Survey (FERS), Wave 5. IDC's FERS is conducted monthly to understand how IT and business leaders in enterprises around the world are assessing risks and addressing cost management for their growing portfolio of technology resources.

"In today's fast-paced digital economy, businesses must embrace digital platforms as strategic imperatives that enhance user experience, improve operational efficiency, and drive business performance," said Frank Della Rosa, research VP, SaaS, Business Platforms, and Industry Cloud at IDC.

"The versatility of digital platforms is particularly appealing to large organizations, which see platforms as effective means to enhance security and automation while improving business agility through their modular structures and API-first architecture," added Nadia Ballard, senior manager, Industry Cloud and SaaS at IDC.
