Abstract
This IDC Survey presents responses from a June 2024 survey of 57 government executives. These responses reinforce the growing importance of digital sovereignty including sovereign cloud solutions and AI technologies that enhance digital sovereignty. Governments are taking several steps to ensure AI technology adoption adheres to digital sovereignty principles while not hindering innovation. For example, governments are establishing data localization and processing policies, developing strategic plans that prioritize digital sovereignty in all AI initiatives, and allocating resources that research and develop AI technologies that enhance digital sovereignty.
