Abstract

This IDC Survey Spotlight provides an insight into the actual state of readiness to adopt AIOps, a crucial steppingstone on the way to more widespread acceptance and adoption of closed-loop automation. The document contains data from IDC's May 2024 Telecom Digital Transformation Survey, based on responses from 100 telco operators globally.

"Our operator survey confirmed what we suspected — almost half of respondents indicated they were essentially just getting started in AIOps, while another third said they had started but had a lot more work to do," said John Byrne, research VP, Communications Service Provider Operations and Monetization at IDC. "That should serve as a reality check because automation across orchestration, assurance, and revenue management is crucial to the monetization of network APIs, network slices, and a host of 5G advanced capabilities that will become available over the next three years."
