Abstract
This IDC presentation is an update to a similar survey IDC ran in 2023 asking global telecommunications service providers about the drivers, goals, plans, challenges, and partner preferences related to their ongoing digital transformation (DX) efforts. Data comes from IDC's 2024 Telco DX Survey, conducted in April and May 2024. This year's survey expanded the number of respondents to 100, with the addition spread across service providers from the Americas, EMEA, and Asia/Pacific.
Telecom SPs are acutely focused on transitioning their communications infrastructure, IT, and business operations through digital transformation to become more agile at offering advanced services to businesses and consumers. The survey captures transformation priorities relying on critical technologies that can be challenging to adopt. These transformations priorities are shaping the telecom SPs' investment decisions, including the impact of GenAI on network traffic growth.
