Abstract
This IDC study examines the market share of the major vendors in the worldwide wearables market in 2023.
"The end of 2022 and the start of 2023 marked a period of decline following the red-hot growth we saw in 2020 and 2021," said Ramon T. Llamas, research director for IDC's Wearables team. "Macroeconomic and inflationary pressures stymied demand, but by the end of the year, multiple markets started seeing improvement, and this spread into the wearables market. As for supply, multiple companies introduced new devices, although, in some cases, they held back from doing a complete refresh or significantly updating a flagship device. This gave the market some time to retrench with older and sometimes less expensive models."
