This IDC study provides a forecast for the worldwide augmented and virtual reality headset market for the 2024–2028 period.
"2024 is going to be the start of a rebound for the worldwide AR/VR market," says Ramon T. Llamas, research director with IDC's Augmented and Virtual Reality team. "Apple's Vision Pro generates new interest in the category and forces the competition to match or surpass its offerings. In turn, this will force all companies to strive to lay claim to the title of 'gold standard' of the market. As a result, end users will be treated to best-of-breed and new experiences similar to what we have seen in other nascent markets."
