This IDC Survey Spotlight explores the reasons organizations are paying the ransom during a ransomware incident, even with access to a good backup. IDC has seen from previous ransomware studies that many organizations are still paying the ransom when they are attacked. At the same time, data backups are a common safety net for ransomware recovery. While they may also get attacked, it’s not always successful.
