Abstract
This IDC study presents an outlook for the server DRAM DIMM market for the 2024–2028 period. The DRAM industry dynamics and the server workload changes are aggregated, analyzed, and applied to this long-term DIMM forecast in terms of units and DRAM content per DIMM.
“Return of datacenter investment will revive the DIMM market in 2024 after severe market contraction in 2023. 24Gb-based DIMM penetration, GPU server-driven 128GB DIMM demand, and CXL introduction near the end of forecast year will lead high single-digit growth in the long term,” says Soo Kyoum Kim, associate vice president, IDC’s Semiconductor research.
