This IDC study provides the worldwide smart home device forecast for 2024–2028.
“The smart home market is expected to continue to struggle in 2024 as a combination of unresolved macroeconomic headwinds and waning consumer demand put significant downward pressure on the market,” said Adam Wright, research manager, IDC’s Smart Home and Office Devices research. “While some regions and device categories are expected to perform better than others, the value proposition of the market as a whole is beginning to be challenged as consumer interest is waning and early deployments are stoking frustrations as devices and services are failing to deliver.”
