Abstract
This IDC Survey covers enterprise perspectives on private 4G/5G networks from IDC's 2023 North American Enterprise 5G, IoT, and Private Mobile Networks Survey. The survey was conducted in December 2023 and involved enterprise decision-makers with connectivity- and network-related responsibilities covering 5G, IoT, and private 4G/5G networks. As 5G networks continue to be built out and mature, and companies continue to seek to secure and optimize their operations through advanced connectivity, many are exploring the potential of private 4G/5G networks as a tool and a platform to accelerate their digital transformation. An improved understanding of business decision–maker's baseline knowledge of private networks along with the perceived obstacles and opportunities as viewed by the enterprise is critical to crafting a compelling strategy for expanding the market.
