Abstract
This IDC Survey examines selected key findings from IDC's Machine Learning Life-Cycle Survey conducted in June 2023. This survey examines the current usage, challenges, and future requirements for machine learning (ML) platforms and their interconnected ecosystems.
"Artificial intelligence and machine learning environments must not be islands. There are significant challenges involved in putting AI/ML models into production, with manual handoffs between the infrastructure, model, application, and service layers," according to Kathy Lange, research director, AI and Automation Software research at IDC. "Reducing friction between the integration points can increase model velocity. Top priorities for machine learning ecosystem integration include cloud platform services, cloud data warehouses, generative AI foundation models, security, software development, and machine learning operations tools."
