Abstract
This IDC Survey presents the findings of IDC's 2023 Product Innovation and Aftermarket Services Survey, from the perspective of 445 product life-cycle management (PLM) decision-makers. The survey results highlight the business drivers, application areas, and investment trends of discrete and process manufacturers. For purposes of clarity, manufacturers have been segmented into four value chains: asset-oriented and brand-oriented value chains (AOVCs and BOVCs) represent continuous process manufacturing and engineering-oriented and technology-oriented value chains (EOVCs and TOVCs) represent discrete manufacturing. All respondents were either the primary decision-maker or part of a team that makes decisions related to product life-cycle management in the North America, EMEA, and APAC regions.
