Abstract

This IDC Survey Spotlight shows that security and cloud workload repatriation are the top reasons why customers are adopting dedicated cloud and dedicated cloud infrastructure–as-a-service (DCIaaS) solutions. Dedicated cloud and DCIaaS solutions give customers a cloudlike experience (scalability, elasticity, consumption-based pricing) in a location they or a colocation partner controls. Both hyperscalers and traditional OEM vendors have rolled out dedicated cloud and DCIaaS solutions.

"The public cloud IaaS market is showing continued strength, but more customers are looking to dedicated cloud and DCIaaS as part of their hybrid cloud strategy, seeking to place the right workloads in the right places," said Chris Kanaracus, research director, Cloud Infrastructure Services at IDC. "Along with security and cloud repatriation, we expect sovereign cloud demands and AI/ML to be critical growth factors in this market in the coming months and years."
