Abstract

This IDC Survey Spotlight analyzes results from IDC's annual U.S. Enterprise Mobility Decision-Maker Survey: Devices, conducted in June 2023 among 525 enterprise mobility decision makers in the United States.

In 2023, a growing number of U.S. enterprise workers are completely dependent on mobile devices to complete their work, meaning, they physically cannot complete their assigned tasks without the aid of a mobile device. Whether they work in a physical office or in the field, the increased dependency on mobile devices in the enterprise is impacting all worker types, both office-based and frontline workers. Mobile devices have become indispensable tools for 50% of all U.S. enterprise workers in 2023, enabling critical business processes and workflows both inside and outside of the traditional office.

This IDC Survey Spotlight highlights the growing dependence on mobile devices for office-based and non-officed-based (frontline) workers among United States–based companies.
