Abstract
This IDC Survey provides high-level insight into the current trends in datacenter operations and sustainability management. IDC surveyed 766 leaders worldwide (North America = 221, Europe = 210, APAC = 140, META = 145, and Latin America = 50) with roles in executive leadership, IT, facilities, or operations involved in datacenter decisions. The objective of this market research survey is to gain insight into current trends in datacenter operations management across enterprise and service provider operators.
Unsurprisingly, generative AI (GenAI) as a discrete topic is among the top initiatives for datacenter operators, but it's affecting capacity and changing the way datacenters are managed. Operators expect to expand all aspects of their hybrid multicloud environment, and there is a marked shift toward effective business management of datacenters.
