This IDC Perspective summarizes the discussion shared by IDC’s Global CIO Advisory Board members on the impact of generative AI technology on the software development life cycle. Data and insights from IDC’s U.S. Developer Survey were shared by Michele Rosen, research manager at IDC. Prior to Rosen’s presentation, we heard from our guest speaker, Hala Zeine, managing director, Portfolio Operations at Blackstone, on the approach Blackstone is taking to help its portfolio companies scale generative coding.
“IT leaders are quickly realizing that generative AI has a wide range of potential applications in the software development life cycle, and many enterprises are already experimenting with generative AI to identify the highest value use cases,” said Michele Rosen, IDC’s research manager for Low-Code, No-Code, and Intelligent Developer Technologies.
