Abstract
This IDC Survey Spotlight provides a ranked list of desired supplier capabilities and practices when enterprises are looking to heighten observability across their technology infrastructure. The list covers a wide range of requirements — including such things as solution customization, customer success, technology leadership, cloud optimization, and partner ecosystem. This IDC Survey Spotlight contains a select data view from IDC’s Worldwide Observability Thought Leadership Survey conducted in March 2023. The highlighted data chart presents a view of total responses gathered from across the globe, but supporting analysis provides an additional view into supplier requirements by region, company size, and vertical industry.
“Just as observability solutions are expected to deliver benefits across multiple fronts, so too are suppliers that offer these observability solutions. IDC survey results indicate IT organizations are heightening their reliance on both technology solution suppliers and managed service providers in such keys areas as design, deployment, operations, and innovation. Owing to the increasing sophistication and complexity of the technology infrastructure; the rising need to provide more in-depth analysis and automated actions within and across IT domains; and the talent shortages and time pressures every IT organization faces, observability suppliers must jump over a high bar when it comes to customer expectations.
