Abstract

This IDC Survey explores how companies are approaching two critical digital business capabilities: digital business models and organization, based on the results from IDC's Digital Executive Sentiment Survey. In this wide-ranging survey, we asked 1,975 executives at organizations around the world about how they are approaching digital investment, digital business models, and digital innovation programs and the impact those are having on their company's revenue now and in the future.

The results reveal the pressure CEOs are facing to generate revenue from digital business models with the expectation of significant growth, the variety of digital business models that companies are deploying to achieve that revenue, and how digital skill shortages are impacting project timelines — particularly in the areas of data and AI.
