Abstract
This IDC Survey Spotlight examines the past and future growth in industrial organizations' intent to utilize cloud computing for hosting applications, data, and workloads. As organizations continue their push to become more data driven in operations, the cloud is proving critical to unifying, contextualizing, and analyzing this data. "I have been pretty cautious about overstating the adoption of cloud in operations environments," says Jonathan Lang, research director, Worldwide IT/OT Convergence Strategies at IDC. "But the pandemic and advancement of data-oriented projects have certainly accelerated the rate of adoption now and in the future."
